Boston Red Sox '04 and '07 World Series

the Red Sox came into existence in 1901 and went on to win the World Series in 1903 and 3 more by 1918.  In 1919 the Red Sox owner sold Babe Ruth to the hated Yankees to clear salary room.  Thus bringing "the curse of the bambino" over the Boston Red Sox leaving them championship-less for 86 years until 2004 when new general manager, Theo Epstein, and manager, Terry Francona helped bring a Championship victory to the Red Sox with some key trades and free agent signings.
One thing that Theo Epstein did that fans might not have liked when they firs heard about it was trading loved shortstop, Nomar Garciaparra to the Chicago Cubs and receiving another shortstop from the Montreal Expos (no longer in the league) and a first baseman from the Minnesota Twins.  The two players they got in return for Nomar were shortstop Orlando Cabrera, and first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz.  Both of these players were former Gold Glove winners.  The Gold Glove is an award given to the top fielder at every position in both leagues every year.   During the 2004 American League Championship Series (ALCS) the  Red Sox were down 3 games to 0 and they were down by 1 run in the 9th inning of the elimination game.  Then Terry Francona put in speedy Dave Roberts and he stole and later in the inning Orlando Cabrera drove him in!  Then in the 12th inning David Ortiz hit a game winning 2 run home run!!  Thus starting the legendary comeback that has never happened in sports history!  They went on to beat the St. Louis Cardinals 4 games to none.
In 2007 the Sox faced a similar challenge but this time against the Cleveland Indians.  The Red Sox rocked the Indians 10-3 in game one.  In game 2 the Red Sox couldn't even put up a fight, losing 13-6.  The Indians went on to win the next 2 games and had a 3 games to 1 lead above the Sox.  The Red Sox won the next 3 games by landslides with a combined total score of 30-5!!  Sending them to the 2007 World Series to play the Colorado Rockies who were really a Cinderella story who had gotten into the playoffs with a 1 game tie breaker with the San Diego Padres.  In game 1 of the World Series the Sox rocked the Rockies beating them 13-1!!  Next game was very close but the Sox ended up winning 2-1. After game 2 the World Series headed out west to Denver Colorado.  In game 3 the Sox took the game by a score of 10-5.  In game 4 the Sox won in a close game by 1 run to win the 2007 World Series and their 2nd in 4 years!  As all of the Rockies fans left the stadium the Red Sox fans stayed and watched as the players stormed the field in celebration of their victory.  Mike Lowell was voted the World Series MVP.  Their season was highlighted by their ace, Josh Beckett, winning 20 games and only losing 7.
